Ruth Mizell

She was born on April 3, 1920 in Chehalis, Washington to Frederick and Dora Gamelien and was a lifelong resident of Everett.

In January 1951, Ruth married Buren Richard Mizell of Louisana, a Navy Veteran of WWII. Buren was employed with Weyerhaeuser and passed away only two months later. Then, later that year their son, Richard was born. Ruth never remarried. Ruth gained employment at the Everett School District. She worked as a secretary for the superintendent’s office for many years under the administrations of Owen Forbes, Dixon Dahl, Rudy Johnson and others. She retired after many years of faithful service. In 2010, she moved to California to be near her son.

Ruth is survived by her loving son, Richard Mizell of Long Beach; two sisters, Linda Buss and Carol McCausland; her sister-in-law, Beverly Gamelin and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Ronald Gamelin and two sisters, Elaine Gjemso and Marge Bennett.

Graveside service will be held at 10 am, Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at Cypress Lawn Memorial Park, Everett, WA.
