

Stefan (Steve) David Podleski passed away suddenly on June 21, 2023 at Providence Regional Medical Center in Everett, Washington. Stefan was born in Chatham, Ontario, Canada, on June 21, 1951.
He is predeceased by parents, Karl Julian Podleski and Lieselotte Podleski (Meier) formerly of Pain Court, Ontario, Canada. He is survived by his sister, Isabella Beattie; his niece, Jennifer Woodall (Matt), nephew, Chris Beattie (Kerry) all of Chatham, Ontario, Canada and nephew, Greg Beattie of Timmins, Ontario, Canada. Also survived by 6 great nephews and nieces.
Stefan grew up in the small francophone community of Pain Court. He received his Bachelor of Applied Science and Masters of Applied Science at the University of Toronto. Stefan was a lifelong student, taking university courses continually. To name them all would be impossible. As an Aerospace Engineer, he worked at a variety of places throughout his life which include companies such as; the U of T Institute of Aerospace Studies, Canada Air Inc. in Montreal, Martin Marietta Aerospace in New Orleans, Bell Helicopter Textron in Fort Worth Texas, Sverdrup Tech Inc. in Brook Park, Ohio, Nyma Inc. in Brook Park, Ohio and Boeing commercial Aircraft in Everett, Washington. His projects involved the Space Shuttles for NASA, The F/A-18 (The Hornet), F-15 (The Eagle) and the Dreamliner for Boeing. He also had numerous technical papers published in various professional journals related to his field.
Stefan had four passions; hiking, shooting, reading and learning. He would spend his free time in the mountains of the north west enjoying all of nature’s beauty. He was an accomplished marksmen, competing and winning in various long range rifle competitions throughout the states achieving a ranking of high master numerous times. He owned a vast collection of rare and historical firearms.He volunteered his time as a Range Safety Officer and trained others in the sport. He was passionate about books, in particular he enjoyed reading about military history. His passions ran deep and his attention to detail lead to his ability to excel in whatever he put his mind. He loved to learn and was constantly studying to learn more about his interests.
Stefan was loved and will be fondly remembered by his sister, niece and nephews and his many friends.
Cremation has taken place and ashes will be scattered in the mountains of the Northwest by his family.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 on August 19th, 2023 at The Cascade Shooting Facility Clubhouse, 27036 SE Ravensdale Way, Ravensdale, WA 98051. Lunch and refreshments will be provided.
