

Steven Nels Osher was born in Great Falls, Montana on August 31, 1954. He passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on July 22, 2022. He grew up in Hebron, Nebraska, graduating from Hebron High in 1972. He spent his summers helping his dad with his aerial spraying business until the death of his father in 1973. After high school he attended Doane College and graduated with a B.A. in history in 1976. The Fall after college graduation he attended Roosevelt University in Chicago, Illinois for paralegal training where he met his future bride Elizabeth (Betty) Osher. They were married in Indianola, Iowa August 13, 1977.
He started his career in Cedar Rapids, Iowa working for Underwriters Service Company as an Insurance Inspector, living and working there for a year before moving with the Company to Omaha, Nebraska. It was in Omaha that his son Ryan was born on Valentines Day, 1986.
In 1988, the family moved to Seattle, Washington and later Everett, Washington where he began his new career with a non-profit, NISH NW, later becoming Source of America. For 30 years he worked in various roles, serving to create job opportunities for people with disabilities before retiring in 2019.
For the last 33 years, Steve was a dedicated member of Advent Lutheran Church serving in many capacities including Church Council, Choir, Bible Study, Litter Crew and more.
Steve had many passions in life including Nebraska Football, Seahawk Football, stereo equipment, cars, music, and photography. His true passion though was his family, extended family, friends and church. As one of his nieces stated, he was a gentle giant. He treated everyone with kindness, love and empathy. He was happy hanging out at home doing chores and walking Frankie, his bulldog. But he also loved traveling and exploring the world with his wife, Betty. He had a lifetime full of wonderful memories created with those he loved.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents Dean and Harriet (Dyer) Osher. He deeply loved his wife Betty and his son Ryan and Ryan’s wife Michaela (Seattle, WA). He also deeply loved and was survived by his sister Diana Luehring and husband Don of Fairbury, Nebraska; his sister Carol Patton and husband Ron of Junction City, Ohio; his brother Richard Osher of Omaha, Nebraska; and Christina Navis wife of Bill Navis of Belleville and Wichita, Kansas. Steve is also survived by many in-laws, nieces and nephews who he also deeply loved.
Services and a celebration of life will be held August 7, 2022. Memorials may be given to Advent Lutheran Church Music Program.
A memorial service for Steven will be held Sunday, August 7, 2022 at 1:00 PM at Advent Lutheran Church, 4306 132nd St SE, Mill Creek, WA 98012. Following the memorial service will be a celebration of life/reception at 2:30 PM at Shawn O'Donnell's American Grill and Irish Pub, 122 128Th ST SE, Everett, WA 98208.
