Wendy Warnock Melling died on January 22, 2022 from leukemia and its complications, at Providence Hospital in Everett. She was 83 years old. Born on May 10, 1938 in Everett, WA she was the daughter of Roy L. and Dolores Warnock. Wendy lived the entirety of her life in Snohomish County, primarily in Everett as well as Lake Stevens where she loved summers on the lake and all the joy that it brought. Her final home was on Lake Stevens. In her youth she was an avid water skier, regularly skiing with a close group of lake friends and family. The ski club would practice and perform a variety of multi-skier formations and pyramids, jumps, and thematic demonstrations for friends, residents, and fellow-enthusiasts. Often the rallying spot for the group was the family marina property on the western shores of Lake Stevens, a location that has been a source of great pride for Wendy and her family for more than 100 years. It’s also the site where Velrob Water Skis were once handcrafted and sold by her father Roy; another source of great pride and always the ski of choice for Wendy and the group. In early-adulthood summers included visits to Lundeen Park Dance Hall on Lake Stevens which sponsored a big-name dance band every Saturday night during the summer - it was the place to be. A 1956 graduate of Everett High School, Wendy held jobs including work in administration at the telephone company in Everett, as well as at the Lake Stevens Sewer District, and as an agent at D.A. Duryee Realty. Later she managed a portfolio of real estate holdings. Wendy loved trips to Hawaii where she launched and sustained close friendships with several fellow travelers over the course of many visits to the islands. She loved to cook, hosting countless holiday meals, celebrations, and simple family gatherings to the delight of those she hosted. Wendy’s circle of close friends and family were near-and-dear to the end, selflessly offering support and comfort. Wendy met and married Gary Mose who preceded her in death, raising two sons Darek and Kyle Mose. Wendy later met and married Clifton Melling who also preceded her in death. Wendy is survived by her two sons Darek and Kyle; grandsons Carter and Ryder; sisters Gail Schafer and Vicki Treichler; nephews Sam Schafer, Matt Schafer, Richard Treichler, and Robert Treichler; nieces Karen Treichler, Jennifer Stuller, and Nikki Stuller; sisters-in-law Sharon Jacobson and Susan Sutton; and brothers-in-law; Jay Stuller, Bob Schafer, Roger Treichler, and Robert Jacobson. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider a donation to a charity in her honor. Services to be held at Evergreen Funeral Home and Cemetery at 4504 Broadway Everett, WA 98203 (425-252-2244) on 2/24/2022, at 11:00AM.
