

Annelise Nugent was born November 19, 1924. She passed away July 16, 2022. She was born in a small town in North Dakota. She was the youngest of six children. She had 4 brothers; August, Ben, Arnie, Wally, and 1 sister, Freida. Her parents, Otto and Elisabeth, immigrated from Germany in the early 1900s. She was raised on a small farm during the depression. She always said that they didn’t have much but they always had plenty of food. She remembered riding to school in a horse buggy and she went to a one room school house. She had fond memories of growing up on the farm with her brothers and sister playing games and cards something she enjoyed the throughout her life. By the time she was a teenager the family had moved to California and settled in the town of Lodi. She graduated from Lodi High School in 1942 and went to work for the Ammo Depot during WW2. She also attended and graduated from Heald Business College in 1944. By 1946 she had met George Nugent and on 11/9/1946 they were married.
Annelise and George went on to have three children; Rodney, Kathy, and Steven. They were married for 56 years until George’s passing in 2002. Annelise worked for over 30 years at Sacramento State College in the admissions office. Annelise loved her family and cherished her friends. She was the last of her family and spoke fondly of all of them. She was preceded in death by her husband, George, and her daughter, Kathy. She is survived by her sons Rodney and Steven, and her grandchildren; Michael, Sam, and Annie. Annelise was loved by her family and friends, she lived a great life and was certainly a part of the greatest generation.
