

Chrysoula Giuzeli Batres, 84, of Granite Bay, Ca, passed away on 07 November 2021. She was born on 17 September 1937 in Manolates Samos, Greece. She completed her studies at a trade school in Greece. She moved to Germany in 1961 to find work making threads in a German factory. She met her future husband an American Airman at a German Cafe, they fell in love and she followed him back to the United States of America. Through another military family she met Lucia an interior designer and worked for her before starting her own business as Draperies by Christa. Chrysoula worked as an Interior Designer for 40 years.
She retired from Draperies by Christa in 2007. She enjoyed dancing, music, decorating, gardening, cooking, baking, entertaining & family time. Chrysoula met Hector Batres in 1963. They married on March 29, 1965 in Washington DC. Together they raised their son Erik Niko Batres.
Chrysoula is survived by her husband Hector Batres, son Erik Batres and his wife Wendy Batres. Four grandsons Nikolaus Batres and his wife Kimberly Batres, Christopher Batres, and his wife Shelby Gerlach-Batres, Brenden Batres and Stefan Batres, and two great granddaughters Maggie Batres & Kennedi Batres, her nieces Anastacia Yanusis and Popi Trapalis and family in Greece. She is also survived by many other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents Stamatia Kallies and Temostoklis Guizeli and her brother Alexander Guizeli.
The family has entrusted Mount Vernon Mortuary with the arrangements.
A funeral is scheduled for November 19th, 2021 at 10am.
