

BENVENUTI, Sr. Daniel Born on May 7, 1928, in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. Dan went home to his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, December 4, 2014, with his family by his side. Dan was born into a family of 16 children. He later moved to New Jersey and then eventually to Sacramento, California to join the rest of his large family. He was married to Tessie Zebrowski. That marriage ended in divorce. On August 13, 1978, he married Ludvina Brazil, which marriage ended in divorce. Dan was a Real Estate Broker and Developer. He and Ludvina started a series of successful ventures together. They opened Fantasia Miniature Golf Center, which included go-karts, a big superslide and mini-bikes. In the 70's they opened two roller skating centers. He held yearly Muscular Dystrophy Skatathons at the Fantasia Skate Center on Arden way, in conjunction with the annual Labor Day telethon Jerry Lewis conducted for Muscular Dystrophy research, raising thousands of dollars annually. He was an active member of Rotary and Capital Christian Center, and played the trumpet together many times with the late pastor Glenn Cole. Dan supported many conservative causes including the Jarvis-Gann Proposition 13 Property Tax Initiative with long-time friend Paul Gann. In 1984, Dan joined the Board of Directors of The People's Advocate and served there for many years until retiring as President Emeritus. Dan also ran for the California State Assembly in 1980. Dan worked hard all his life. He was an extremely kind and caring man always ready to give a helping hand. He loved God and Country and loved to share his faith and trust in God to everyone he met, giving them encouragement and hope for whatever challenges they might be facing in their life. Dan was preceded in death by his Dad and Mom, Angelo and Mary, his brothers, Joe, Sam, Paul, John and Ralph, and his sisters, Rose Braio, Mary Benvenuti, Anne Fruci and Ruth Fusaro. He is survived by his two sons, Daniel Jr. and James, his two daughters, Janice and Debbie with 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by two sisters, Rachel and Laura. Friends and family are invited to the visitation on Friday evening, December 12, from 4:00 to 7:00 pm. The funeral service will be Saturday, December 13, 1:00 pm, at Mount Vernon Memorial Park and Mortuary, 8201 Greenback Lane, Fair Oaks, CA with a reception immediately following at the main building.
