

Donald Edwin Lamoureux passed away peacefully at home on April 23, 2019 in Foresthill, CA. Don was born on May 31, 1934 in South Gate, CA, to Edwin and Marion Lamoureux. After graduating from high school he became an Architect for Los Angeles County, first in the Architecture Department, then in the Parks and Recreation Division focusing on golf courses. He designed several golf courses in the county including El Cariso and Los Verdes. He remained with Los Angeles County for 35 years before retiring. On July 30, 1962 he married Bette Dodd and they had four children within three years - Lisa, Don, and twins Susanne and Kathleen. The loves of his life included his family, being involved in Masonic organizations, vacationing on Balboa Island and golfing. In fact, he golfed every Tuesday for most of the 20+ years he lived in Foresthill.
Don is survived by his wife Bette, son Michael McCauley (Johnell), daughter Lisa (Andy), son Don (Rhonda), daughter Susanne (Brad), daughter Kathleen (Glenn), nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, May 3rd at Mount Vernon Memorial Park, 8201 Greenback Lane in Fair Oaks with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Northern California Shriners Hospital for Children, 2425 Stockton Blvd., Sacramento, CA.
