Mom was born May 24, 1941 in Fon du Lac Wisconsin, to William and Elvira (Strassburg) Behm. Mom made her choice to serve God at a young age and was baptized when she was 13 years old. When Dad was a young man living in Woodland, the workers encouraged him to get acquainted with Mom’s brother Arvid, which led to Dad getting to know Mom better. She married our Dad, Max Hansen on December 31, 1962.
She was a stay-at-home mother and day care provider for many years until 1982, starting a 21 year career at the State of California Franchise Tax Board retiring in 2003.
Words are too small to express what our Mom was, and still is to us. She embodied the virtuous woman in so many ways. She was a doer and a giver of herself. A true caregiver to her family and others. Over many years, she and Dad cared for so many elderly saints who were in their latter years. She fiercely loved, often in quiet, background ways, but oh so clear. Through the ups and downs in life, the joys and sorrows, Mom pondered things in her heart, and ultimately chose the Spirit and teachings of Christ for herself over and over again. The Lord was her anchor. We cannot be thankful enough.
She is survived by her faithful husband of 63 years; two daughters Lynell Hansen (Elk Grove) and Susan Hansen (Sacramento); sister Altine (Clifford) Hesebeck of Beaver Dam, WI; as well as many nieces, nephews, and very special friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her brother Arvid.
