

Gladys Cossairt, of Carmichael, California died Saturday, October 4, 2014 at the home of James and Pamela Woodward, Folsom, CA after a week’s stay at San Juan Hospital. Gladys was born in Faith, South Dakota, April 24, 1913, to Walter and Emma Fairbanks.
Gladys worked as the Post Master in Pondosa, CA for 24 years. She then retired and moved with her husband to Redding, CA where she lived until her husband, Wilbur passed away. She then moved to Rancho Cordova, CA in 1974 to be close to her three sons. Gladys was a world traveler, traveling to Hong Kong, the Caribbean, Alaska, Hawaii, Germany, Italy, Russia, Sweden, Finland, Australia and New Zealand. She was also very active in the Masonic groups such as Eastern Star, Amaranth and White Shrine. She also supported her two granddaughters in Jobs Daughters. Gladys was preceded in death by her loving husband, Wilbur, and beloved son, Lowell. She leaves to cherish her memory, her daughter in law, Thorah Cossairt, son, Melvin Cossairt and his wife Margie, and son Keith Cossairt and his wife Sharlene. Grandchildren, Pam Woodward and husband, James, Bruce Cossairt and wife, Verna, Diana Salerno and husband, Robert, Kevin Cossairt, Rodney Cossairt and Patricia Cossairt. Great Grandchildren, Sean Woodward and his wife Elizabeth, Jason Woodward and his wife Kelly, Jeffrey Cossairt, Samantha Cossairt and Ally Cossairt. Great Great Grandchildren, Faith, Emma, Charlie, Hyrum, Connor, Payton, Leah, Ava and Max. The Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on October 25, 2014 at El Camino Gardens Atria (on the corner of Garfield and El Camino in Carmichael. Memorials can be made to the Shriner’s Hospital for Children – Northern, CA, 2425 Stockton Blvd., Sacramento, CA.
