Gloria Angela Rochester

was born on 8/18/1931to Lucio Carballo and Ramona Ballesteros. Born and raised

Oxnard, Ca

Gloria is survived by her daughter Victoria Elaine Rochester (Catherine Rochester); her

sister Lourdes Rodriguez; her step children; Jeff Rochester (Tia), Lisa Friend (Don) and

Lori Kinsey; her granddaughters Taylor Brown, Alexis Brown, Jennifer Hureaux, Sara

Rochester, Rae Kinsey and grandsons Garrett Brown, DJ Friend, Jeff Friend, Christian

Rochester, Colin Rochester and 10 great grandchildren.

Gloria worked in banking in Oxnard (Bank of America) until moving to Salinas, Ca where

she was co-owner of Gordito’s restaurant in Salinas, Ca with her mother Ramona for

over 30 years. Gloria ran the front of the house while Ramona ran the kitchen. Gloria

met her husband Don Rochester and welcomed their daughter Victoria Elaine

Rochester. Gloria and Don were married for 58 years. After the sale of Gordito’s, Gloria

returned to banking and also obtained her real estate license. Gloria loved bowling,

tennis, playing piano and listening to music. Her favorite artists included Celine Dion,

Andre Bocceli, Whitney Houston, JLo, Julio Iglesias, Amy Whinehouse and so many

more. She loved her dog Nicki immensely and found solace in her when her husband

Don passed.

Gloria, was great at running businesses and was meticulous when it came to financial

responsibilities. Gloria loved a good party and dancing. She belonged to a bowling

league in Salinas for years and played Tennis, Volleyball and Softball in high school.

She adored her grandchildren and shared in every event and milestones throughout

their lives. She loved the ocean, wine and was an avid chocolatier. One could always

count on a Sees candy box, M&M’s, chocolate macadamias, cookies or anything sweet

hidden somewhere.

Gloria was preceded in death by her husband Don Rochester; her father Louie

Carballo and mother Ramona Rodriguez Ballesteros

3/18/26 Santa Clara Roman Catholic Church 10 am, 323 E. Street, Oxnard, Ca

Interment to follow at Santa Clara Cemetery 2370 N H. Street, Oxnard, Ca.

Celebration of life to follow interment at Staybridge Suites Oxnard River Ridge,

2101 W. Vineyard Ave. Oxnard, Ca
