Nic was born to Nicholas and Catherine (Korth)Windeshausen
in Osmond, Nebraska. He graduated from Osmond Public High School in
1941 then enlisted in the US Navy in 1942 serving in the Pacific Theater
during WW11. He went back to Osmond after he was discharged where he
continued dating Joyce Jean (Pilger) of Plainview Nebraska. They married
May 3, 1946 in Indianapolis Indiana. Nic started his long career in education
by taking advantage of the GI Bill and enrolling at the University of
Nebraska, Lincoln in 1950. In the year 1962, Nic graduated with a PhD in
Business, Darcee arrived, they moved to Sacramento,California and then
Lael arrived!! Thus the start of 60 years in the Sacramento area teaching at
CSUS, volunteering, traveling, raising a family and enjoying many, many
friendships along the way. Nic is survived by daughters
Darcee Durham of Antelope, CA and Lael Birdsong of Citrus Heights, CA
and three grandchildren Mitchell Birdsong, Simone & Kyle Durham. Nic was
loved & will be missed.
