Mr John Ernest Chism

John E. Chism 1945-2017. Sadly, after losing a battle from a long illness passed away peacefully at home with his family in Roseville, CA on June 12, 2017. John was born on 03/13/1945 in Stoddard County Missouri, to the parents Olene and Zelmo Chism. The family moved to Illinois and then ventured to California. The family grew with 2 more children; daughters, Loretta Jean and Suzanne Carol Chism. They moved to Richmond, CA then settling in Milpitas, CA. John graduated from Samuel Ayer High School 1963 and was a star Football player in his day.

John worked for FMC before enlisting in the Navy Reserves for 2 yrs. In 1968 he married Cecilia Perez and later had 2 sons, Warren and Brandon Chism. The family lived in Fairfield, CA. John worked for State Farm Insurance as a Claims Rep, and after 25 years, retired and lived in Roseville, CA until June 12, 2017 when he passed on.

John is survived by his wife Cecilia, his 2 son's Warren and Brandon Chism; Granddaughters Meagan Ray and Malaya Chism; 2 Nephews; Justin and Jessica Turner and their 2 children Liam and Payton; Colby and Melissa Turner and their son Tommy; 2 Neices, Regina and Matt Hickey and their Daughter Sierra and Kimberly Smith and her 3 children Kyle, Cody, and Josh. Additionally, John's Family grew again by 4 when his son Brandon became engaged to Melissa Salas with her own three children, Adrian, Jessica, and Andres. John's heart opened up to them all and became their papa in every respect...

The Celebration of life for Jon Chism, will be held on Saturday, June 24, 2017. At Mt Vernon Memorial Park at 4pm. 8201 Greenback Lane, in Fair Oaks, Ca 95628 .
