Kathleen I Betts

Kathleen (Kay) Betts passed away peacefully in Sacramento, CA on Wednesday, May 25, 2022. She was born in Calgary, Alberta, Canada November 22, 1925. She was preceded in death by her parents, Roland Patrick McGuinness (1892-1961) born Belfast, Ireland, and Sarah (Sadie) McCafferty (1893-1971) born Donegal, Ireland, her brothers were also born Calgary, Alberta, Canada -Rowland (Rollie) McGuinness (1918-1999) and Leo Fergus McGuinness (1920-1996). She is survived by her only daughter Kathleen (Kathy) Rangchi and her wonderful son-in-law Ghassem Rangchi. She is also lovingly survived by her niece Barbara Magistad and her family; her nephews Tommy McGuinness and John McGuinness and their Families. She had many friends whom she enjoyed and who supported her with calls and visits.

Kathleen loved to cook and bake sweets, pies, cakes and cookies were her specialty and would say yes to "dessert first" before any meal. She made lovely doilies using fine thread during her younger years and decorated her table tops with her creations throughout her life. She crocheted, knitted and enjoyed anything crafty. She enjoyed traveling (especially cruises) to Australia, Ireland, Canada, Europe, and the USA.

She lived in her home in Folsom, California for 37 years - it was her pride and joy. While there she planted 31 roses and many other colorful plants - her garden was full of color and fragrances. She enjoyed wearing colorful and Coordinated outfits. The interior of her home was decorated with beautiful assortments of pottery: Belleek from Ireland, Lladro from Spain, and many teacup and saucer sets.

She loved spending afternoons with a friend sharing life stories while enjoying tea, from a pretty cup, and sweet treats. She shared her home with her companion dogs, and spoiled each one while enjoying their antics and companion ship.

A celebration of serviced is being planned.

Kay touched many lives and will be dearly missed. She asked in lieu of flowers donations be made to Society for the blind; Sacramento SPCA; or Meals on Wheels.
