Saturday February 17, 2018, the life of Kenneth Marrs was measured. And by all I ever heard or saw he was measured as a very good man.
Those who knew Ken over his 92 years are far beyond my knowing as are those who heard him preach the gospel for over 50 years and were changed by his ability to speak boldly and clearly the Word of God. He and Carrie together labored as a wonderful team serving as such a great example to thousands.
As broad and long as his shadow was cast across time and space, Ken’s life was always and on every occasion the focal point, the anchor and inspiration of his family. That influence and guiding light never lost its focus even as Ken and Carrie’s family grew through to 5 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. “Grandpa” and “Great-grandpa” was always center stage.
I dare say that no one in our family often a made a moral or ethical decision without thinking of Ken and what he stood for, what he taught and the example he lived. It was indeed both and anchor and inspiration to us all.
How do you measure that, even when the tree has fallen?
