

Lucille “Tut” Ruth (Farmer) Pugh was born May 27th, 1953, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to her parents Willa Mozella Pace Farmer and George Farmer, Sr. They both preceded her in death.
Her mother divorced her father a few weeks after her birth because of years of abuse from her father. She said – please God! Lucille attended Carter G. Woodson Elementary School in Oklahoma City. Her mother moved her and her brothers David and Daniel to Detroit Michigan in 1965.They lived on the East side of Detroit with her mother’s cousins and attended Sherrod Junior High School. They soon moved to Detroit West side and she attended Munger junior high she later entered Chadsey high school where she received her diploma early at 17 years old in 1970, she waited until 1971 to walk across the stage to receive her diploma so she could be with her friends.
She attended Wayne State University taking prelaw classes and political science courses she was extremely close to her brothers and followed Daniel in their pursuit to make their lives better Daniel was pursuing law taking courses at University of Detroit and taking political science courses too. She often said she regretted not finishing to become a physician with a minor degree in political science courses her brother Daniel expressed the same regrets her mother took her and her brothers and adopted brothers to church at Bailey Temple Church of God in Christ she sang a beautiful soprano in the choir under the direction of Dr. Mattie Moss Clark. Dr. Clark often teased her because she was too shy to lead so doctor Clark made her and her sister Gail sat in the 1st row in the choir.
Her mother met and married Will Williams and they later moved with their new family on the corner of Dexter and pedigree she threw marriage got to have new sisters (3): Gail Puckett, Desi B Turner, and Alma Pearl McFarland. She loved her new sisters- as she already had four biological sisters and five biological brothers plus several adopted brothers who were very protective of her.She fell in love with Will Williams, and he became her Daddy and she proudly told everyone about the new man in her life. He loved her and her siblings and treated them royally.
At the age of 16 she met Curtis Pugh. They dated off and on for several years. In 1973, he proposed to her and on April 5, 1974, they were married. To this union, two beautiful daughters were born: Acrystal Lamara and Shawndala Mozella ~whom she loved, loved, loved deeply.
Lucille began working for the Federal Bureau of investigation and later working for the Internal Revenue IRS where she worked for 30 combined years until her retirement in October 2014.
In 1990, after her husband joined the church - she joined him at Christian Tabernacle Church along with her daughters. They quickly fell in love with this church. The Pastor and Wife and the entire family. After finishing her membership classes - Lucille joined the choir and continued to do what she loved- singing soprano - while still remaining on the back row being shy. The Music Director moved her to the front row and convinced her to lead songs like “We shall behold him”. After finally saying yes to Jesus, she continued to lead songs like “Order my steps”, “For every mountain”, “Changed”, “It's right and good”. She also sang on the praise team and background for local celebrities, as well as plays for TJ Hemphill and Bill Moss, Jr. After leading on CD produced by Bill Moss and Dr. James Morman, she recorded the song, “Who would imagine a king”. Additionally, she also sang commercials for an LA based company. She affectionately refers to Mother Anderson, Sister Morman’s mom, as mother because she lost her mother years ago. She often said calling her mother made her feel better, so she had several mothers. She also fell in love with and called mom- Mother Wright, Mother McCray, Mom Easterling - to name a few. She remained a faithful member of Christian Tabernacle church for 24 years.
In October 2014 after her retirement, she moved to Roseville CA. Her daughters also moved with her - they were extremely close. She loved - loved - loved these women. She always said she loved her new residence, the climate, peaceful atmosphere and where her restful place would be towards Heaven. She loved spending time with family, cooking, and entertaining. Her most enjoyable moments she had were watching her daughters: (Shawnee) graduating high school and going to work and (Acrystal) graduating high school and receiving her Master’s degree. Also, growing up having fun with siblings on Dexter and Pedigree and vacationing with husband and daughters in Florida and later traveling and enjoying retirement. She absolutely loved watching HGTV and was a true decorative leader and designer and even attended several classes that inspired her even more.
In her latter days, she took great pride in being a plant mom by nurturing her plants both inside and outside as well as traveling both within the state of California and other places such as Las Vegas, Florida and Texas. Her nickname “Tut” came from her Big Brother Daniel who was trying to say baby sister “Tutta”. Some of her siblings called her “Tootsie roll”. She loved positive sayings and always kept positive people around her. Love was always throughout her home - her heart - her spirit - her family.
Her beautiful life will forever be cherished by her husband, Curtis Pugh, two daughters – Acrystal and Shawndala, two sisters, Alberta Caldwell and Gaylora Williams, stepsister Gail Puckett; her Godmother: Hazel Estell and a hosts of nieces, nephews, great nieces/nephews and great, great niece/nephews, countless cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, stepfather, brothers: George Farmer, Sr., Clifford “Sonny” Farmer, Johnny Farmer, Sr., David Farmer, Sr., and Daniel “Chubby” Farmer, Sr. – Sisters: Claudette Dennis, and OlaVon Griffith as well as many other relatives and friends.
