Martin Nira Garcia

Marty grew up in Greeley, Colorado where he attended Greeley West High School. After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Navy. He served in the Beachmasters One Unit during the Gulf War, deploying to the Persian Gulf. Upon reenlistment, he was selected to become an Intelligence Specialist, which he often stated was his most enjoyable job. After serving 10 years in the U.S. Navy, Marty had a distinguished career in law enforcement. He served at the Stockton Police Department for two years and then on to the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office where he worked for over 20 years. He retired in 2022 but returned to work in his community as a Deputy Sheriff On Call.

Marty enjoyed traveling, taking drives in his Bronco, watching movies, listening to music, cooking and trying new recipes, going to the beach, visiting the kids, walking the dogs, and being at home relaxing with his family. Marty is survived by his adoring wife, Michele, son Tristen and his wife Luna, son Hunter and his wife Alejandra. He is preceded in death by his beloved mother Julia. Marty was a devoted son, husband, father, and friend and was loved by so many. The positive impact he has had on his community is one that won’t be forgotten.
