

1919, passed away Tuesday, March 1 ,2011, at the age of 91.
Bill is survived by his wife, Velda, son, Richard, and daughter, Ann. Three grandchildren
and three great grandchildren.
Bill married Velda in 1941. They have lived in Sacramento, Folsom, and Grass Valley.
He was always willing to help other people out if he could. He was a very honest and
hard working man. He could build or fix just about anything. He built over 20 boats and
5 houses for his family. For the first house that he built, he made forms to make the
cement blocks instead of buying them.
He was a veteran o WWII serving in the Army from 1942 to 1946, as a radio operator in
a half track. He was in the 13th Armored Division in Europe. He would carry a small
spoon and when they went into abandon towns he would find the cellars and eat the jelly
preserves. He had the reputation of being able to repair the officers watches and he even
repaired the General's watch. He also was the bugler for his unit.
He used to play the trumpet and saxophone at church.
He worked as a service station attendant, radio technician for McClatchy Broadcasting
Co., construction superintendenent, real estate agent and a general contractor. At 70 years
old he was still climbing 650 foot towers for KFBK radio station performing
maintenance. He also helped build Christian radio stations in New York, Florida and
Central Califomia. Velda would travel with him when she could.
In his last years he enjoyed building bird houses and selling them.
