Ron was born 6/14/1939 and passed away 12/3/2025.

Ron was born and raised in Fresno, California, growing up camping, fishing and hunting. He went to Roosevelt High School in Fresno where he was on the swim team and in the marching band. He graduated in 1957. Ron met his wife, Carol Sturica Howard, in Fresno, and they were married in November 1960. They moved to Sacramento, California shortly after. Ron worked in the elevator industry as an elevator mechanic and had over 40 years of service with Valley Elevator Company, which later was sold to Montgomery Elevator Company and last with Capitol Elevator Company.

Ron and Carol raised two daughters, Andrea Howard of Sacramento and Sally Buchanan of Folsom. Ron has four granddaughters; Taylor Ash, Jensen Ash, Chloe Ash, Lily Bickham, and one grandson; Dillon Ash. Ron loved to travel, especially cruising. Ron's parents, Dewey and Rose Howard, his sister, Judith Howard and wife Carol Howard, preceded him in death.

In retirement, Ron worked part-time in the parking department at Cal Expo and made many friends in the retirement communities he lived in. A Celebration of Life Open House will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2026. Contact Andrea Howard or Sally Buchanan for details.
