Shirley Ann Abila-Huckabay passed away peacefully on June 6, 2022 with her family by her side. Shirley was born on July 6, 1937 in Westwood, California. She grew up in Del Paso Heights and graduated from Grant Union High School in 1955.
Shirley worked for the Bureau of Reclamations earlier in her career and for 25 years worked as a book keeper and accountant for multiple businesses.
In 1955 Shirley married her husband Jack and together they raised two daughters and one son.
Shirley and her family moved to Phoenix, Arizona in 1968 and returned to live in Sacramento in 1999. Shirley loved playing tennis, was a professional genealogist and an avid sports fan.
She is preceded in death by her parents Ben and Dollie Abila and her beloved husband, Jack. She is survived by her sister, Barbara Parker, her children Dana White, Matt Huckabay and Becky Gamble; grandsons Dale, Ben and Billy White and great-grand daughters; Maddy, Sienna, Lilliana and Penelope.
Services will be held at Mount Vernon Memorial Park 8201 Greenback Lane Fair Oaks, Ca. Visitation with family will be held Wednesday June 22nd from 4 to 8 pm. Chapel Service will be held Thursday June 23 at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a contribution in Shirley’s name be made to thecenternow.org.
