Spencer was Born March 10, 1921 in Anderson, SC and is preceded in death by his wife Rosa Bennett of Sacramento, CA, parents Dove and Lula Ross Bennett, brother JC Bennett and sister Macie B. West all of Anderson, SC.
He is survived by his loving daughter Marthella Mitchell, grandchildren Spencer (Okson) Bennett, Debra (James) Jones, Charlene Mitchell and Charissa “Rissa” (Eric) Scott; great grandchildren Valencia Scott, Jared Jones, Solomon Scott, Chloe Scott; and a host of nephews, nieces, grand nephews and nieces.
Spencer served his country in the Army during WW II and was employed and retired as a Foreman with the Rice Growers Association for 40 years.
He was an avid fisherman and loved listening and watching his favorite baseball team the San Francisco Giants. Private services are to be held at Mount Vernon Memorial Park & Mortuary; 8201 Greenback Lane, Fair Oaks, CA at 11:30 am on January 3, 2012.
