Carmen G. Garza

Carmen G. Garza, the matriarch of the family was granted her angel wings on October 10, 2014. Faith assures us that she was welcomed into the gates of heaven by the love of her life Benito. Her most memorable years were spent by his side as his loving wife of 58 years.

Mama Carmen, as she was affectionately known, was born on October 6, 1913 to Juan and Maria Garcia. Her 101 wonderful years of life gave the family the honor of learning the priorities of life from such a beautiful person who taught by example. The importance of family values, respect and morals were instilled in all of her 19 grandchildren, 32 great- grandchildren and 14 great great- grandchildren whom she loved in such a special way.

But above all she taught and practiced her Catholic faith to anyone who came upon her presence. She never allowed anyone to leave her home without her blessing. Family gatherings were always around the kitchen and dining table. Her enjoyment came from watching others enjoy her delicious meals. Sewing was another passion of hers, all her grandchildren are fortunate to have something special made by her in their homes. Her legacy continues through her children Anita Molina and Lidia (Hector) Garza of Hebbronville and Ciria (Baldemar) Garza of Laredo and her daughter in law Feliza Garza of Corpus Christi. She is also survived by her sister Emma Turner. She is preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her children Oscar, Benito, Jr, and Hilda, and Sons –in- law Ramiro Molina and Manuel J Rodriguez and also 1 great grandchild Carolina Zertuche.

Holy rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m.on Sunday, October 12, 2014 at Funeraria Del Angel Howard-Williams.

Funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, October 13, 2014 at the Immaculada Catholic Church in Hebbronville

Burial will follow at the New Hebbronville Cemetery.
