Clara L. Negri

Clara was born to Sherman H. and Clara Rickey Arnold, October 19, 1929, in Caney, Kansas. She graduated from Falfurrias High School in 1947 and attended Business College.

“Sis” married Frank Negri November 10, 1948 in Falfurrias, where they spent their lives together. She is survived by her children: David (Louise) Negri, of Lometa; Becki (Richard) Solomon, of Falfurrias: Patti Ann Solomon, of Falfurrias; and Ginny (Troy) Smith, of Georgetown. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren and one great-great- granddaughter; brother: Wayne Arnold; sisters: Fran McClenny and Helen Trantham, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Clara was predeceased by her husband, Frank, in 2007, her parents; brothers: JR Arnold, James Arnold, Tom Arnold, Larry Arnold, and Dan Arnold; sisters: Phyllis Arnold and Linda Cunningham; and grandson, Clint Negri.

Clara spent many years as a leader of Blue Birds and Camp Fire Girls. She worked as a bookkeeper for Brite Star Laundry and Cleaners and in the business office for Brooks County Independent School District where she retired in 1989.

Pallbearers are Lance Solomon, Travis Solomon, Dusty Solomon, Wyatt Smith, Xavier Alaniz, Blayne Alaniz, Justus Alaniz, Cezar Segovia, Kaylor Guerra, and Elliot Solomon. Honorary pallbearers are Richard Solomon, Troy Smith, Seth Smith, Corbin Solomon, Ethan Solomon, Eli Solomon, and Brenden Solomon.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, December 31, 2019, at Funeraria Del Angel Howard-Williams with visitation beginning at 9:00 AM. Interment will follow at Falfurrias Burial Park.
