Clelia C. Rocha passed away Tuesday, August 13, 2024 at her son’s residence in Pharr, Texas at the age of 87. She was born August 29, 1936 to Pedro G. Chapa and Beatriz Salas Chapa in Hebbronville, Texas. Clelia educated the youth, as one of the first bilingual teachers in the United States of America, for many years until her retirement. She had a significant passion for teaching and throughout her lifetime, lived her spiritual journey as a Jehovah’s Witness.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Juan Rocha, Jr.; daughter Adrienne Alexis Rocha and sister, Maria Chapa Saenz.
She is survived by her two sons, John Mark Rocha and Jon Christopher Rocha both of Pharr; daughter, Margo Deanne Rocha of McAllen, Texas; brother, Peter Chapa of Hebbronville; nephew, Manuel (Adrianna) Flores of Kingsville, Texas; nieces, Lynda Lee (Humberto) Soliz and Judy Joyce Gonzales both of Hebbronville; numerous extended family members and her pet cats.
