Doroteo Gonzalez passed away on Saturday, July 25, 2015 at a nursing home in Falfurrias, Texas at the age of 55. He was born on October 31, 1959 to Ruben Gonzalez, Sr. and Leonarda “Naya” Garcia Gonzalez in Falfurrias, Texas. Doroteo was a field worker for about six years until he became ill. Doroteo was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents. He is survived by his two brothers, Ruben (Delma Araujo) Gonzalez, Jr. of Premont, Texas and Ovidio Gonzalez of Falfurrias; one sister, Elizabeth (Ricky Benavides) Gonzalez of Falfurrias and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and extended family members. Special gratitude is expressed to the staff at the Falfurrias Nursing and Rehab Center who were like a second family to Doroteo.
A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 28, 2015 at the Funeraria Del Angel Howard Williams in Falfurrias with visitation beginning at 5:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 29, 2015 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Falfurrias. Burial will follow at the Falfurrias Burial Park.
