Dorothy Louise Wilder

Dorothy Louise Lancaster Wilder, 88, passed away on the 19th of May, 2013 at the Mirador in Corpus Christi, Texas. She was born on the 28th of July, 1924 to Arthur and Gertrude Lancaster. Dorothy grew up in Hutchinson, Kansas and in 1940 graduated from Hutchinson High School at the age of 16. After high school she attended the University of Kansas Nursing School in Kansas City, Kansas where she became licensed as an Registered Nurse. There she met her future husband, Mr. Lowell Wilder, and they married in 1944 in Hutchinson, Kansas. They were happily married for over 68 years.

In 1947 they moved to Falfurrias, Texas where she was a member of the First United Methodist Church. She enjoyed traveling, reading and most of all she enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Peggy and brothers, Steve and Lester. Dorothy is survived by her husband, Dr. Lowell Wilder recently of Corpus Christi, Texas; children, Cindy (Garner) Foley of Boerne, Texas, Connie (Monroe) Whitman of Arlington, Washington, Dr. Thomas (Erin) Wilder of Corpus Christi, Texas; sister, Jeanne Grote of Coronado, California; brother, Myron William Lancaster Blaine, Washington; niece Lisa Gary; 14 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 23, 2013 at the First United Methodist Church in Falfurrias with Pastor J.J. Wicke and Pastor Jim Curran officiating. Burial will follow at the Falfurrias Burial Park.
