Eva C. Hinojosa, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, November 26, 2019 at her granddaughter’s residence in Rockport at the age of 95. She was born on April 4, 1924 in Premont, Texas to Vicente Canales and Olivia Rosas.
She graduated from Hebbronville High School in 1943 and was the first Hispanic Valedictorian.
She married the love of her life on April 1945. They lived and raised their family on a dairy farm in Sejita, Texas. After her husband death, she moved to Hebbronville where she worked for the Jim Hogg County Clerk office until her retirement.
She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother. Eva will be dearly missed by her family and extended family.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Juan Hinojosa; siblings, Agapito Canales, Arturo Canales, Teodoro Canales, Armando Canales, Orlando Canales, Alicia Suarez, Aurora Gonzalez and Olivia Yolanda Rios.
She leaves many precious memories that will be cherished by her sons, Saul Uriel (Sylvia) Hinojosa of Freer, Juan Rene (Dora Silguero) Hinojosa of Sejita, Oscar Noel Hinojosa of Corpus Christi and Delma Eva (Leo) Villarreal of Austin; brother Emede (Lupita) Canales of Hebbronville; Seven grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews
Pallbearers will be Dr. Saul Hinojosa Jr., Juan Orlando Hinojosa, Juan Rene Hinojosa II, David Saul Hinojosa, Ryan Ross Raymond and Allen Rene Hinojosa
Honorary pallbearers will be Oscar Noel Hinojosa Jr., Cindy H. Hughes, Alma Denise Stacy and Olivia Nicole Hinojosa
Holy rosary will be prayed on Friday, December 6, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. at Funeraria Del Angel Howard-Williams, Hebbronville with visitation starting at 4
Funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, December 7, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.
Burial will follow at the New Hebbronville Cemetery.
