Our beloved daughter, Eva Elena Perez, entered her heavenly home on Thursday, October 19, 2023. She was born on May 25, 2018 to Ernest Perez and Alyssa Maria Perez and was the younger sister of Amalia Linda. Although Eva was only five years old, her personality shined through brighter than all the colors of the rainbow. She had a contagious smile and never met a stranger; she loved making new friends.
She was the definition of a “girl’s girl” and loved everything and anything sparkly. She loved playing dress-up, putting on makeup, and of course, walking in high heels. She was her parent’s world and her family’s pride and joy. She had BIG love for her best friends, her big sissy Amalia, and all her cousins.
Eva was able to capture the hearts of thousands through the Life & Light Campaign she started with her mother. It was important to Eva to spread awareness about Childhood Cancer in the hopes of saving lives and finding a cure. Eva garnered overwhelming support from schools all over the Coastal Bend area to join her campaign and help raise awareness - bringing Eva so much pride and happiness.
Eva is preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Arturo G. Lozano; maternal great-grandparents; Gilberto Lopez, Arturo and Amalia Lozano; paternal great-grandparents, Jesus and Ester Perez and paternal uncles, Johnny Joe Perez and Jesus Perez.
Eva’s life and memories will continue to be cherished by her parents, Ernesto Perez and Alyssa M. Perez of Premont, Texas; sister, Amalia Linda Perez of Premont; maternal grandmother, Araceli Lozano of Premont; maternal great-grandmother, Alicia Lopez of Laredo, Texas; paternal grandmother, Linda Perez of Uvalde, Texas; uncles and aunts; Arturo (Azalia) Lozano of Premont, Arnoldo (Irma) Lozano of Laredo, Armin (Alyssa) Lozano of Laredo, Crispin (Liza) Perez of Uvalde, Gerardo (Rosemary) Perez of La Pryor, Texas, Eric Perez and Jacob Perez both of Uvalde; cousins, Ariana, Arturo, Ana, Layla, Camila, Arabella and Aramis Lozano, Itzyana, Myliana, Emmanuel, Gerardo, Cristian, JJ, Noel and Emily Perez and numerous extended family members and friends.
Pallbearers will be Eva’s uncles and her Godfather, Michael Enriquez.
We encourage those attending the service to please wear bright colors as Eva Elena adored the colors of the rainbow.

Special Gratitude is expressed to everyone who showed love and support of any nature during this extremely difficult journey, especially the medical staff of Methodist Children’s Hospital in San Antonio and the Oncology Department including Dr. Howell, Dr. Esquilin, Dr. Ramirez and Dr. Falcon. We could also never express enough appreciation to her favorite nurse who never left Eva’s side, Dustin. Your comfort and support throughout her days in the hospital was unmeasurable and will never be forgotten.
