

Gustavo A. Davila Sr., also known as "La Chunga" joined our lord in his heavenly kingdom on Thursday, July 8, 2010 at the age of 69 at his home in Oilton, TX surrounded by family and friends. He worked for Machine & Supply Co. (M&S) in Mirando City, TX for many years. Everyone knew him as a great cook and his passion for conjunto music and singing. He is preceded in death by his parents Bonifacio and Gertrudes Davila and nephew Jose Luis "Joey " Davila. He is survived by his wife of 44 years Graciela Davila of Oilton; his four children Gustavo A. (Gabriela) Davila Jr. of Oilton, Luis Ruben (Juanita) Davila of Oilton, Velma Davila of Oilton and Juan Jose “Johnny” (Melanie) Davila of Corpus Christi; brothers Jesus (Ana) Davila of Bruni, Juan Garza, Refugio G. Davila of Laredo, Joe (Margie) Garza of Chicago; sisters Ninfa Herrera of Agua Dulce, Aida (Guadalupe) Chapa of Banquete, Raquel Faz, Elsa Solis both of San Antonio, Elma (Valdemar) Vasquez of Bruni and Amelia Lira of Oilton ; 11 grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephew
Prayer Service will be conducted at 7pm Sunday, July 11, 2010 at Funeraria Del Angel Howard-Williams in Hebbronville.
Funeral Service will be celebrated at 11am Monday, July 12, 2010 at Trinity Baptist Church in Mirando City.
Interment will follow at the Davila Family Cemetery in Oilton, TX.
Pallbearers will be Joel Lopez, Juan Manuel Vela, Judge Alfredo Garcia Jr., Pablo Hernandez, Joel Hernandez, and Roberto Hinojosa
Honorary Pallbearers will be Jesus Herrera Jr., and Edmundo Herrera
