Heberto G. Barrera

Heberto G. Barrera, 92, passed away Tuesday February 1, 2011 at a nursing home in La Vernia, Texas. Mr. Barrera was born on August 18, 1918 to Horacio Barrera and Sofia Garcia Barrera in Premont, Texas. He was a rancher for many years before his retirement.

He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Homero, Horacio and Honorato Barrera, daughter Linda Barrera, grandson Horacio Barrera and granddaughter Riza Fetty.

He is survived by three sons Heberto, Jr. (Elma) Barrera of Premont, TX, Humberto (Carmen) Barrera of Premont, TX, and Hector (Diana) Barrera of San Antonio, TX, daughter Joni Bee (Baldemar) Ramirez of San Antonio, TX, sister Genoveva Leach of Premont, TX, 12 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.

Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Friday February 4, 2011 at the Funeraria Del Angel Howard-Williams in Falfurrias, TX, with visitation starting at 4:00 p.m.

Mass will be celebrated at 2:00 p.m. Saturday February 5, 2011 at St. Theresa’s Catholic Church in Premont, TX, with burial following at the Premont Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Tomas Barrera, Homer Barrera, Tres Barrera, Rocky Barrera, Cuatro Barrera and Mark Garcia.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Lato Barrera, Jr., Emede Garcia, Calle Resendez, John Leach, Jr., Horacio Barrera and Caleb Ramirez.
