Hector J. Ramirez, Sr., also known as “Red”, passed away on Monday, January 3, 2022 at a hospital in Edinburg, Texas at the age of 90. He was born February 8, 1931 to Jesus M. Ramirez and Guadalupe Lopez Ramirez in Falfurrias, Texas. He worked for over 20 years as a Plant Operator for Mobil Oil until his retirement. He was also a life-long rancher. Hector was an avid football fan, especially rooting for the Dallas Cowboys.
He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Minerva Hinojosa Ramirez; infant son, Hector Ramirez; infant sister, Soila Ramirez and brother-in-law, Ramon Omar Guerra.
Hector is survived by his two sons, Joe M. Ramirez of Austin, Texas and Hector J. Ramirez, Jr. of McAllen, Texas; sister, Ana Gloria Guerra of Falfurrias and many nieces, nephews and extended family members.
Gratitude is expressed to his provider, Maria for her care of Hector when it was needed and to the staff at Brookridge Retirement Community in Pharr, Texas.
A Rosary will be prayed at 10:15 a.m. on Monday, January 10, 2022 at the Funeraria Del Angel Howard Williams in Falfurrias, Texas with Visitation beginning at 9:15 a.m. Funeral Mass will follow at 11:30 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Falfurrias. Services will conclude with Burial at the Falfurrias Burial Park.
