

Jesus Alberto Davila better known as “El Brodita” was welcomed into the gates of Heaven on Sunday, September 24, 2023 at his residence in Oilton, Texas at the age of 88. He was born on October 6, 1934 to Bonifacio Davila and Getrudes Benavides in Oilton, Texas.
He is preceded in death by his parents; loving wife, Ana Maria Davila, and son, Jose Luis “Joey” Davila. Sisters; Ninfa (Jesus) Herrera, Raquel (Jesus) Faz, Aida+ (Lupe) Chapa, Amelia (Benito) Lira, and Gustavo (Graciela) Davila.
Jesus was the family's patriarch, and the wisdom he shared with his family will be greatly missed. His love for music and singing was another treasure the family will hold dearly. He grew up helping raise his siblings after losing his parents, worked tirelessly at M&S machine shop, and then retired from the Tex-Mex Railway. He was always proud of his upbringing and was genuinely humble.
He leaves behind to cherish his precious memories his wonderful daughters, Rosa Ana Canales of McAllen, Texas, Raquel Lopez of Oilton, Texas, Cynthia (Nicolas) Soto of Laredo, Texas, and Sandra (Jaime) Sanchez of Los Fresnos, Texas; sisters, Elma (Valdemar) Vasquez of Bruni, Texas, and Elsa Solis of San Antonio, Texas; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Jaime Sanchez, Joel Lopez Jr., Mando Castillo, Carlos Garcia, Roberto Hernandez and Luis Solis. Honorary pallbearers will be Joel Lopez, Jaime Sanchez, Nicolas Soto, Ruben Solis, Erasmo Canales Jr., Edmundo Herrera, Robert, Edmond, & Jason Benavides.
Rosary will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, September 27, 2023 at the Funeraria Del Angel Howard Williams in Hebbronville with Visitation beginning at 8:30 a.m. Mass will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Hebbronville and services will conclude at the New Hebbronville Cemetery.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to Laredo Hospice for their expert and compassionate care they provided for our father, and a special thank you his caregiver, Ofelia for the wonderful care and comfort she provided daily.
