Jo Ann Pena Gonzalez entered into eternal rest on Saturday, October 7, 2023 at Edinburg, Texas at the age of 58. She was born on February 2, 1965 to Juan Pena, Sr. and Noemi Arredondo in Sugar Land, Texas. Jo Ann dedicated over 22 years of service as a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor with The Texas Department of Criminal Justice. Jo Ann was a humanitarian who was passionate about serving others.
Jo Ann had a sense of humor like no other and a contagious laugh that would light up the room. She was a very selfless and giving person who was dedicated to her family. Although she was proud of the work she did professionally, she was most proud of her family, which she kept at the heart of all she did. She was always ready to plan family gatherings and until her last few days, she was still bringing her family together.
She is preceded in death by her father, Juan Pena, Sr., brother, Juan Pena, Jr. and grandmother, Eva Dominguez.
Jo Ann leaves behind to cherish her memories her husband of 33 years, Jose Luis Gonzalez of Falfurrias; daughter, Jessica Leslie Gonzalez of Falfurrias; mother, Noemi Arredondo of Falfurrias; brothers, Javier Pena of San Antonio, Texas, Joe Pena of Houston, Texas, Ruben Morales of Falfurrias; Victor Alanis of Falfurrias and Jeff Lewis of Hesperia, California; sisters, Vanessa Alanis of Falfurrias, Rena Pena of Corpus Christi, Texas; Lorraine Guzman of Corpus Christi, Marella Dalme of Seguin, Texas, and Lisa Lewis of Victorville, California; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
