

Jose Heberto “Beto” Ramirez of Hebbronville, Texas entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, November 26, 2014 in San Antonio, Texas. He was 88 years old. He was the beloved husband of the late Estela B. Ramirez. He is survived by his six children; two daughters, Gema Laura Paredes (Pedro) of Laredo, Texas, and Gilda Estela Ramirez of Corpus Christi, Texas; four sons, Jose Heberto Ramirez (Gloria Jean) of The Woodlands, Texas, Gerardo Alonzo Ramirez (Lynn) of Austin, Texas, Leonardo Luis Ramirez (Carol) of Anchorage Alaska, Jesus Felipe (Anne Marie) of San Antonio, Texas; 15 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Heberto is also survived by his sister, Carmen (Guadalupe) Longoria and sisters-in-law, Olga Ramirez (Fernando), Theresa Rios (Felipe), Victoria Bazan Rocha (Joel), Margarita Bazan Harpe (William), Gloria Bazan (Martimiano), and many nieces and nephews that loved him dearly. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Estela Bazan Ramirez, his parents, Fernando G. and Leonarda F. Ramirez, his brothers Felipe Angel and Fernando Gontran Ramirez. Beto served in the U.S. Army in WWII. He was wounded and is a Purple Heart Recipient. Heberto “Beto” was a small business owner in Hebbronville and built the Sinclair Service Station on Smith and Draper in 1959-1960. He extended the business to include a grocery and auto parts store (Hebbronville Auto Parts). Beto lived in San Antonio with his youngest son Jesus and his family for the last 8 years. Together with his wife, Beto instilled in all their children and grandchildren the desire to develop their intellect, creativity, spirituality, and compassion for humanity. They exemplified being life-long learners—and the importance of getting an education and in helping to educate others.
Rosary and interment will be in Hebbronville, Texas. Visitation will start at 3:30p.m. at Funeraria Del Angel Howard-Williams and Rosary will be at 7:00 p.m. Sunday, November 30 at the Immaculate Catholic Church at 202 W. Draper St. Visitation will continue at Funeraria Del Angel Howard Williams, 401 Texas St. on Monday, December 1, at 11:00 a.m. with Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 2 p.m. Monday, December 1 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 504 E. Santa Clara. Burial will follow at the New Hebbronville Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Miguel Che Terrazas, Marc Stephen Ramirez, Philip Andrew Ramirez, Stephen Alexander Ramirez, Rafael Angel Ramirez & Gabriel Arturo Ramirez. Honorary pallbearers are Miguel de Jesus Ramirez and Uriel Santos Ramirez. Reception will follow burial at 1008 Mesquite
