Jose Luis "Chore" Johnson

Jose Luis “Chore” Johnson was received by his Heavenly Father on Monday, June 22, 2015 in Alice, Texas at the age of 45. He was born on July 10, 1969 to Enemencio P. Johnson and Rosa Chapa in Falfurrias, Texas. Chore worked as a Sandblaster for Montalvo’s Sandblasting for many years. Throughout his lifetime, Chore loved to participate in rodeos and spend time with family and friends. His newest pastime was being by the waters and fishing.

Chore is preceded in death by his father; grandparents, Trinidad Johnson, Julia P. Johnson, Jose Sabas Chapa and Antonia Garza Chapa and numerous relatives.

He is survived by his mother, Rosa C. Villarreal and stepfather, Abel Villarreal of Premont, Texas; three sons, Jose Luis Johnson, Jr. of Alice, Jose Isaac Johnson of Falfurrias and Nicholas Johnson of Alice; two daughters, Elva Marie Johnson-Celestino of Alice and Rechelle Elia Johnson of Skidmore, Texas ; one brother, Armando Enemencio (Margie Guevara) Johnson of Kingsville, Texas; three sisters, Annette (Frank) Johnson-Alvarado, Julie (Israel Lara) Johnson Garcia and Martha (Nathan Garcia) Johnson all of Falfurrias; five grandchildren, Isaac Jose Johnson, Haiden Rae Celestino and Madison Nicole Celestino all of Alice and Bentley Aiden Salinas and Renesmee Marie Salinas both of Skidmore and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunt, uncles and friends.

Pallbearers will be his three sons, Jose Jr., Jose Isaac and Nicholas; Hector Cantu, Gilbert Suarez, Armando Enemencio Johnson, Israel Lara and Frank Alvarado. Honorary Pallbearers will be his two daughters, Elva and Rechelle.

Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 25, 2015 at the Funeraria Del Angel Howard Williams in Falfurrias with visitation beginning at 5:00 p.m.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, June 26, 2015 at the St. Theresa’s Catholic Church in Premont. Burial will follow at the Premont Cemetery.
