He delivered my daughter. I remember he put funny faces on the. Riling of his exam room!

This is a much belated post, made on behalf of my father.  I met Dr. Wilder some 54 years ago, but do not remember much except his taking us out to an excellent Mexican meal.

My dad, Gene Heatwole, was Lowell's cousin and 7 years younger. My dad always told me he looked up to his example and was an inspiration for himself pursuing a  medical career.  He spoke of his cousin many times and always with great admiration.  He was a role model for my father.

I remember meeting Dr Wilder for the very first time in my life when I was 3 when my brother who was one year old and I had double pneumonia. He came to our house and gave us both a shot. Over the years he treated our whole family of 13.I married and was gone for 30 years Dr Wilder was semi retired by then. I took the job of Wesley Nurse and he was Chairmen of my health committee as I worked at the Methodist church for Methodist Healthcare Ministries. He and Dorothy were with me almost daily planning Health Fairs, we started a huge prescription assistance program, Angel Food Ministries program.I called him for advice on some really sick patients. This was all charity work for him
 He so loved the people of Brooks and surrounding counties. When he turned 90 Santos Gonzales had a very well attended celebration at his pharmacy in his honor. I learned so much from him even after having been an RN for almost 30 years I continued to learn from him. We will never ever have a man with a gift from God to heal people in this town again. He continously read and studied about medicine. I learned so much from him and he was God's gift to me by allowing me to learn medicine from the best Dr Ever. Even though I had worked and graduated from UT school of Nursing and hospital. I miss him and Dorothy the backbone of our church and community. I saw them daily. My second set of parents finally together in heaven. I love them both and will miss them deeply.

Dr. Wilder removed my appendix when I was a fifth grader.
Dr. Wilder was the physician for my parents Pete & Kathryn Plevans.
I baby sit their three children.
Dr. Wilder taught the Youth at Falfurrias Methodist Church.
He was a Bible Scholar.  We did learn from him.
Dr. Wilder delivered our first born, Mark.

Our deepest condolences to all the Wilder family!  He was a much loved man. He always had a smile for you when you went to visit him.
A little something about Dr. Wilder:
        About 7/8 years ago or so???   On one of my visits to Falfurrias, my cousin Armando (Mando) Barrera,  deceased, took me to this little restaurant on East St. Mary's.   As we sat, he immediately noticed Dr. Wilder and party having lunch.  He said "Jr., as the family called me back home, look, there is Dr. Wilder."
I then turned and I just had to go and say hi to him.  As I approached, I put my hand on his shoulder and said "Dr. Wilder, and he turned to see who it was, I am Arnold Barrera, Alicia's and Arnoldo's (Chico) son.  And he, without missing a beat, said "oh yeah, Mr. Cherry Pink" as he smiled at me!  I was absolutely floored and stunned of the memory that he still had of me of 1960 when I was a senior in high school.
He was such a great man in the office and on the streets of Fal.
He will be remembered and missed by all the people that he touched.

We so very loved Lowell and we will cherish our days with him in the dining room at MIrador the last couple of years.  He was definitely a rare, rare gem.  One of a kind. They do not make them like him anymore.  We love you Dr. Wilder.

My condolences,I know the sadness.
Dr. Wilder was our family dr. since our mother, Juanita Olivarez, who died January, 28, 2017.
We would leave the house ill and when my dad would pick us up from the clinic, we'd be fine. He would tell my mom to ask the dr. for a photo because all we had to do was look at him and we were healed.
After Dr. Wilder's retirement, my mom and I found a new doctor, Dr. Tommy,  who made us feel the same way.
Dr. Lowell will be missed very much.

My condolences, I know the sadness. Dr. Wilder was my family's doctor starting with my mom, Juanita Olivarez who died January 28, 2017. 
We would leave ill from the house and be fine when my dad would pick us up from the cliinic. My dad used to tell my mom to ask Dr. for a picture because all any of us had to do was look at him and we were cured. 
After his retirement, that's how mom and I felt about our new dr., Dr. Tommy.
We will miss him very much.

I am saddened to learn of the passing of Dr. Wilder. He was a wonderful, compassionate, warm and loving person and a wise, caring and exemplary physician. It didn't matter what time of day or night or whether it was rain or shine or whether one called upon him locally or from afar, Dr. Wilder was always available and always willing to help. He practiced medicine in the true sense of what the Hippocratic Oath represents and he purveyed such honorably and kindly through his duty. He was a blessing to the entire community of Falfurrias and beyond in so many ways and for such a long time. He was one of the truest original pillars of the community at its very best. With his charismatic personality, dapper appearance and that eternal dimpled-smile, Dr. Wilder cared for us all. I am personally happy to say that he was not only a best friend, neighbor and physician, but also an inspiration for many. 
Tommy, Cindy and Connie, thank you and, of course, your Mom, Dorothy, for sharing Dr. Wilder with us all. He was deeply loved, appreciated and will be missed. His inspiration and legacy lives on in the Wilder tradition. God bless you and yours and may you always keep the memory of the twinkle in his eye and his smile to warm your hearts.

So very sorry to hear about Dr. Wilder. He was our family doctor for many, many years. We knew him as a wonderful caring doctor, who helped so many. My mother and step father had a difficult time trying to adopt a child and Dr. Wilder helped them when they adopted my brother. I will never forget that Dr. Wilder brought my brother to our house and he was only a day old. Cindy and Tommy Wilder were classmates of mine when we attended school in Falfurrias. Dr. Wilder delivered all the Vittitoe's children, and was a true friend and blessing to the family. Dr. Lowell E. Wilder was always there at any time of the day or night, and was a watchful eye to my parents after we flew from the nest of Falfurrias. The news of your father's passing flooded me with sorrow for you and your family. It also flooded me with many memories of your father as a doctor and a close friend of our family. He welcomed us to town by performing an appendectomy on my brother, and our families' friendships grew from there. You may not remember, but I have a special bond with your dad and your family: the day my dad was killed, amid all the sorrow and shock , your dad thought about me. He somehow knew I needed one on one attention that my mother just couldn't handle at that moment. He took me to your home that night. I was surrounded by a calm, loving, warm family environment . I will never forget his kindness, the kindness of your whole family.  
  On a lighter note, I am also forever grateful to him for piercing my ears and saving my teen years from total ruin! Haha.  
My thoughts and prayers are with you, and I thank God for men like your father.
