Maria Elva Del Bosque, lovingly known as Elva, passed away on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at a hospital in Corpus Christi, Texas, at the age of 83. She was born on January 22, 1943, in Falfurrias, Texas, to Ricardo Salazar Sr. and Eva Moreno Salazar.
Elva was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She was a woman of remarkable strength, courage, grace, and resilience. Throughout her life, she guided her family with both love and honesty, teaching them valuable lessons that shaped who they are today. She believed in facing life’s challenges head-on, standing strong in the face of adversity, and never settling for less than what one deserved.
Her wisdom became the foundation her family continues to build upon each day. Elva gave selflessly, offering unconditional love, support, and sacrifice to those around her. The care she showed and the values she instilled will forever be treasured by all who knew her.
Elva will be deeply missed but never forgotten. Her life was a beautiful reflection of perseverance, devotion, and unconditional love. The lessons she shared and the strength she embodied will continue to guide her family for generations to come.
Elva is preceded in death by her parents; her aunt Manuela Salazar; her beloved husband, Rogelio Del Bosque; her brothers, Roberto Salazar, Rene Salazar Sr., and Felix Cruz; her sister, Elinora Figueroa; her nephews, Ricardo “Ricky” Figueroa and Ricardo David “RD” Salazar; and her nieces, Minerva Salazar and Maricela Ramirez.
She leaves behind a legacy of love in her two sons, Raudel “Rowdy” (Sara) Del Bosque Sr. and Rodney Del Bosque both of Falfurrias; daughter, Edna Marivel Cantu of Falfurrias; Grandchildren, Raudel Del Bosque Jr., Roman Odel Del Bosque, Valerie Ann Cantu, Jesica Ray Del Bosque, Pedro Cantu Jr., Adrian Ray Cantu, Rogelio Cantu; brothers, Ricardo Salazar Jr., Oscar Cruz, Joe Roberto Cruz, Homero Cruz, Humberto Cruz, Armando Cruz, and Robelin Cruz; sisters, Elda Gloria Cruz, Imelda Cruz, Martha Esquivel, and Oralia Esquivel; 13 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends, all of whom will carry her memory in their hearts forever.
Pallbearers will be Pedro Cantu Jr., Raudel Del Bosque Jr., Roman Odel Del Bosque, Roel Figueroa Sr., Rafael Salazar, Rene Salazar Jr., Rodney Del Bosque, and Rudy Martinez Sr. Honorary Pallbearer is Edna Marivel Cantu.
Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, at the Funeraria Del Angel Howard Williams in Falfurrias with Visitation beginning at 9:15 a.m. Burial will follow at the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Falfurrias.
