Maria Nilda Hinojosa entered into eternal rest on Sunday, December 19, 2021 at a hospital in Corpus Christi, Texas at the age of 85. She was born on December 31, 1935 to Ramon Hinojosa and Aurora Lopez Hinojosa in Falfurrias, Texas. Maria was a strong believer of education and was a proud recipient of her Bachelor’s Degree that she earned from Texas A&I University-Kingsville. Before her retirement, Maria worked as an Activity Director for a nursing home in Kingsville, Texas for several years.
Maria was a devout Catholic and a faithful woman of God. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters and the Guadalupanas of Kingsville. She was the matriarch of the family and the glue that held them together. She was firm in teaching her children and grandchildren the meaning of honesty, fairness, equality and integrity. She made sure that they grew up on a foundation of good morals, ethics and independence. All of the values she tried to show her children were the values her parents instilled in her. She spoke her mind, when needed, and always wanted to make sure she was doing the right and fair thing. Putting her family first was something she did until her last day. Her relentless love for her family was never questionable. She enjoyed mariachi music and spending time with her family.
Maria was reunited in Heaven with her parents; her son, Roel Jaime “R.J.” Sandoval; granddaughter, Dyan Loggans and great-grandson, Korbyn Allen.
Reminiscing on the legacy she left behind are her two daughters, Ruby Sandoval Allen of Falfurrias and Ruth Ann (John) Hall of Portland, Texas; four grandchildren, Jason J. (Catey) Allen Montgomery, Texas, Jeffrey R. Allen of Bowie, Texas, Janel P. Allen of Falfurrias and Jake (Kymberly) Hall of New Braunfels, Texas and 10 great-grandchildren.
A Rosary will be prayed at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, December 28, 2021 at the Funeraria Del Angel Howard Williams in Falfurrias with Visitation beginning at 9:30 a.m. Services will conclude with a Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m.
