Nellie Villarreal Garcia

Nellie Villarreal Garcia, 91, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother was called home by our Lord on Friday, November 19, 2010 at a hospital in Kingsville, Texas. She was born December 1, 1918 to Leonardo V. Villarreal and Eulogia Cruz Villarreal in Falfurrias, Texas. Nellie was employed by the Brooks County ISD as an Educator, Counselor and Bilingual Director until her retirement. She was a Eucharistic Minister and Sacred Heart Lector as well as a member of the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary and American Legion Organization. She also did social work for the Department of Welfare. Nellie is preceded in death by her parents; husband Porfirio A. Garcia II of Palito Blanco, brother Noel Onesimo Villarreal, granddaughter Jessica Claudia Garcia and many extended family members. She is survived by her son Porfirio Alberto Garcia (Jeanine Corso) of Falfurrias, TX, daughter Claudia Garcia Morrison of Dallas, TX, four step children Gilma Gallegos of Corpus Christi, Texas, Norita Garcia of Ben Bolt, TX, Humberto (Bessie) Garcia of Ben Bolt, TX and Alma Gonzalez of Roma, TX, and a special daughter Sofia Pena, daughter-in-law Nancy Boettcher of Orange Grove, TX, five grandchildren Angela Michelle Garcia, Christina Victoria Garcia, Alexandria Renee Garcia, Anabell Jeanine Garcia and Dandy P. A. Garcia and two great-grandchildren Izaac Emiel Garcia and Gregory Phillips.

A rosary will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, November 20, 2010 at the Funeraria Del Angel Howard Williams in Falfurrias, Texas with visitation beginning at 2:00 p.m.
