Our beautiful mother, grandmother, and great‑grandmother, Noemi G. Salinas, was lovingly welcomed into the arms of our Lord on Sunday, March 29, 2026, at the age of 78. Born on March 1, 1948, in Agua Nueva, Texas, to Guadalupe Garza and Eliza Ramirez Garza, Noemi entered this world as a blessing—gentle in spirit, rich in compassion, and destined to reflect God’s love in all she did.
Noemi lived her life with a heart anchored in faith, kindness, and grace. A proud graduate of the Hebbronville High School Class of 1966, she carried the joy of her youth throughout her life—shining as Head Cheerleader and as the Jim Hogg County Watermelon Queen, roles that reflected the light God placed within her and the admiration she inspired in others.
Noemi started working right after graduating high school and was a devoted employee for many decades. Her professional journey began at the Law Office of Richard Gonzalez, continued through the Texas Department of Human Services and the First National Bank of Hebbronville, and culminated in her devoted service as District and County Clerk. In every role, she served with humility, integrity, and a servant’s heart—treating each person with dignity, compassion, and the quiet strength of her faith.
Yet Noemi’s greatest calling, her most cherished ministry, was her family. She adored her children, grandchildren, and her great‑granddaughter with a love that was steadfast, gentle, and unconditional. She prayed for them, encouraged them, and celebrated them with a joy that reflected the heart of a mother who walked closely with God. Her love will continue to guide them, a living testimony of her faith.
Deeply rooted in her community, Noemi gave generously of her time and spirit. She was a proud supporter of the Hebbronville High School Athletic Booster Club and Band Booster Club, cheering on her children and generations of Longhorns with the same enthusiasm she carried as a young cheerleader. Her faith flourished through her service and leadership in the Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Daughters of America, where she formed lifelong friendships and lived out her devotion with humility, reverence, and joy.
Noemi is preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Oscar L. Salinas; and her sisters, Nilda Garza, Nelida G. Garcia, Noelia G. Gonzalez, and Ninfa G. Garza.
She leaves behind a legacy woven with love, faith, and cherished memories: her daughter, Melinda (Steven) De Leon of Corpus Christi, TX; her sons, O.J. (Doris) Salinas of Chapel Hill, NC; John Eric Salinas of Hebbronville, TX, and John David Salinas of Edinburg, TX; her brother, Guadalupe (Diana) Garza of Driftwood, TX; and her pride and joy—her grandchildren, Brianna, Madison, Jenna, Jordan, Bryan, Brandon, Evan, and Jackson; along with her great‑granddaughter, Skylah Grace.
Pallbearers will be Marcos Salinas, Michael Salinas, Michael Segovia, Raul Garcia Jr., Roberto Garza, and Severiano Guevara Jr.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Fernando Paz Jr., Johnny Salinas, Severiano Guevara, and Hugo Chapa.
The family welcomes visitors at 5:00 PM at Funeraria Del Angel Howard‑Williams in Hebbronville on Monday, April 6, 2026.
A Holy Rosary will be prayed at 7:00 PM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Interment will follow at the New Hebbronville Cemetery.
