Olga Y. Ramirez

“I am the Lord your God: hear my voice” Olga Y. Ramirez was born to this earth in Laredo Texas on January 23, 1930 to Filiberto and Santos Ybanez, and most importantly, on the morning of March 10, 2021, the windows of Heaven opened and the celebration commence welcoming Olga Y Ramirez to her Eternal Home. Yes, beautiful and peaceful, and with the choir of angels singing, she met our Lord Jesus Christ, our Blessed Mother Mary, Saint Joseph and all who preceded her in death including her parents, husband, Fernando G. Ramirez Jr., son, David F. Ramirez, daughter-in-law, Alicia G. Ramirez, brothers, Filiberto Ybanez Jr. (Juanita), and Homero Ybanez (Crisanta), sisters, Maria Y. Ramirez (Augustin), Antonia Ybanez, Lilia Y. Garcia (Winiberto), Hortencia Y. Ramirez (Fernando), Santos Y. Martinez (Ramiro), and Aida Y. Ramos (Alvaro), and many loving brothers and sisters-in-law and nephews and nieces. She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Dora (+David F.), sons, Juan Carlos (Sandra), and Oscar Mario (Marisa), daughter, Sandra Olga, grandchildren, David F. Jr. (Ana), Dariel (Vivana S.), Deliza M. Blondin (Lloyd), Juan Carlos Jr. (Lee), Rene Claudio (Chelsea), Oscar Matthew, Andres Mario and Kristina Maris, great grandchildren, Elias Fernando and Adelina Noemi, niece, Vickie Santos (Roberto & Daniella). Special thank you to Diana Robledo Perez who helped us care for our mother.

Olga was the second youngest of nine children in her family and lost her father at the age of 15. But the Lord blessed her with a wonderful mother and siblings who helped her during her younger years. She would often say that she was the most blessed growing up because she had the best parents, brothers and sisters. She missed them all after their passing and now is rejoicing in Heaven with them.

Olga and Fernando married on July 29, 1956. Together, they joyfully raised their family and instilled in them to be loving to all. Olga led by example as she deeply loved and cared for her family and friends. She was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Hebbronville and participated with the Catholic Daughters of the Americas and the Guadalupanas. Olga had the most beautiful smile, a loving heart and showed kindness to everyone she met.

A fan of the Texas Longhorns, Olga wore her burnt orange and white with pride. She also followed the Cowboys and Astros, and the times that she attended the games, she had the time of her life. Hook’em. The sights and sounds of Las Vegas always had her beaming. From playing the slots, to experiencing the lights and bells as a jackpot winner, every visit was lit up with her smile!

After her kids were older, Olga also worked at the New York Store alongside her sister Antonia for many years. She was a dedicated employee who always displayed respect to her work, to Mr. and Mrs. Blas Salinas, Margarita S. Ellison and Tony Salinas and provided the most outstanding service to all of the customers.

When her husband Fernando became ill, they both move to San Antonio to live with their daughter Sandra. During his medical treatments, she stood by his side and joined him for every treatment. She cared for him with the most tender and loyal commitment. Their love for each other was a true love story for all to follow.

Being a woman of God, Love was the key to Olga’s life. Her husband, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren meant everything to her, and she, meant everything to us. We love you always and will miss you, but we also know what God has promised to all who follow His Commandments. “Love the Lord your God with all of your heart, with all of your soul, with all of your mind, and with all of your strength”. Olga “Mima”, thank you for all that you did for us, bye-bye as you used to say, and may the celebration in Heaven continue!

We wish to thank all of our family and friends that have expressed their condolences on the loss of our beloved Mima. After careful consideration and out of the concern for everyone’s health and safety during this pandemic, we still ask that those who chose to pay their respect and give condolences in person to please wear their facemasks at all times and follow CDC COVID-19 guidelines by maintaining safe social distancing.

Visitation will begin at 8:30 a.m. with a Holy Rosary at 9:30 a.m. and Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 20, 2021 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Hebbronville. Services will conclude with Burial at the New Hebbronville Cemetery.

Pallbearers will included David F. Ramirez Jr., Dariel E. Ramirez, Juan Carlos Ramirez Jr., Rene Claudio Ramirez, Oscar Matthew Ramirez and Andres Mario Ramirez. Honorary pallbearers will be Deliza M. Blondin, Kristina Maris Ramirez, Elias Fernando Ramirez and Adelina Noemi Ramirez.
