Rebecca “Becky” H. Garza entered into eternal peace on Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at a hospital in Kingsville, Texas at the age of 89. She was born on October 14, 1928 to Paulino Hernandez, Sr. and Luisa Chapa Hernandez in Brooks County, Texas. Becky grew up with her eight siblings in Falfurrias, Texas and later married the love of her life, Servando Garza and together they raised three children. Becky was devout Catholic and was faithful to her religion. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt who helped raise her grandchildren in any way possible. She loved clothing and was known to always be well dressed and styled. In her spare time she enjoyed attending bingo.
Becky was welcomed into the gates of Heaven by her parents; husband, Servando Garza; brothers, Onofre Hernandez, Paulino “Sonne” Hernandez, Jr., Octavio Hernandez and Augustine Hernandez and her sisters, Maria Luisa Tanguman, Elia Cantu and Irene Barrera.
She leaves behind her sons, Jose R.”Kiro”(Argelia “Archie”)Hinojosa of Falfurrias and Ernesto Garza of New Braunfels, Texas; daughter, Nelda Garza of Conroe, Texas; sister, Ana Maria (Onofre) Lopez of Falfurrias; eight grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews to remember her great memories.
Pallbearers will be Becky’s grandsons, Robert Garza, Nelse Hinojosa, Michael Garza, Robert Hinojosa, Justin Krest and Marcus Garza.
Rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, June 8, 2018 at the Funeraria Del Angel Howard Williams in Falfurrias. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 9, 2018 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Falfurrias. Burial will follow at the Falfurrias Burial Park.
