Rodolfo De La Garza

Rodolfo De La Garza passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 18, 2014 at his residence in Premont, Texas at the age of 91. He was born on May 31, 1922 to Pablo De La Garza and Maria San Miguel De La Garza in San Diego, Texas. Rodolfo proudly served in the United States Army during WWII and later worked for Storm Nursery for over 40 years until his retirement. He was not only a loving husband, father and grandfather but he was also the backbone that kept his family strong. He was deeply proud of his children and grandchildren.

As Rodolfo entered into the gates of Heaven, he was eternally reunited with his parents and brother, Ramon De La Garza. He leaves behind to cherish his memories his loving wife, Josefa Perez De La Garza; son, Paul De La Garza both of Premont; three daughters, Hilda (Robert) Martinez of Lake Jackson, Texas, Viola (Hector) Villarreal of Pharr, Texas and Olga De La Garza of Premont; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and extended relatives who will all miss him deeply.

Pallbearers will be Paul Jr., Jaime, and Jacki De La Garza, Bobby and Michael Martinez, Sonny and Mark Anthony Villarreal and Alonso Longoria.

The family will be welcoming visitors at the Funeraria Del Angel Howard-Williams in Falfurrias on Friday, February 21, 2014 beginning at 5:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, February 22, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at the St. Theresa’s Catholic Church in Premont.

Burial will follow at the Premont Cemetery.
