Rogelio Salinas Jr. was brought to eternal joy and rest on Sunday morning, October 30, 2022. He was received by his paternal grandparents Manuel Salinas and Lidia Salinas and maternal grandparents, Guadalupe Garza Saenz and Felipa Longoria Saenz.
He was born to a loving mother and father; Rogelio Salinas and Belinda Salinas, in Kingsville, Texas, on December 19, 1990.
Anyone who knew RJ, knew that he was a good person. He always brought so much joy to those who encountered him. He was a dearly beloved son, grandson, brother, uncle, nephew, and cousin, who was well loved and favored. He was a friend to many and a smile to the downhearted. He often was surrounded by family who enjoyed his sense of humor and his jokes, but most of all, RJ was
God’s child. He gave love where love ran empty, he touched people’s lives with his laughter and his compassion, he gave when there was a need. RJ was a selfless, and good hearted young man. His presence lit up any dark room. People knew him to always be in a cheerful mood. His laughter and his memory have left deep imprints on people’s hearts.
RJ was born into a family who nurtured him with love and gentleness. As a small boy, his father worked long hours to provide for the family and his mother then educated herself after a life of many hardships. His grandparents on both sides, were always readily available with open arms to care for him and help with his upbringing. A rough little boy, who grew up alongside his grandfather and father, watching and learning big rig trucks, immediately grew a desire of becoming a truck driver. He earned his CDL at a very young age and rapidly began his own trucking business. With diligent efforts he became a sole proprietor and entrepreneur as owner operator of R2 Trucking in the oilfield industry. He devoted his passion and energy into the business and became very successful within a short time. He left a legacy of love, compassion, laughter and his impressive trucking talents. Many will say that RJ indeed was a good hearted man. His intentions were always before his own; he gave freely without restraint. He exemplified his selfless actions when he gave his own mobile home to another in need and he stayed without, spending his nights sleeping in his truck’s sleeper. RJ’s greatest prides were R2 trucking and the Dallas Cowboys. He loved his family. He loved his friends. He loved and he gave. And for those whose lives he touched, will never forget who RJ was.
He leaves behind to cherish his memories, his present family: Father; Rogelio Salinas (Teresita Duarte) of Falfurrias, Tx., Mother; Belinda Ann Salinas of San Antonio, Tx., brother; Brandon Salinas, sisters; Jennifer Salinas, Kimberly Garcia (Mark Garcia) of Falfurrias, Tx., Hillary Salinas, and Hailey Garza, of San Antonio, Tx., 1 step-brother; Derrick Duarte, and 1 step-sister; Daisy Duarte , of Falfurrias, Tx., 4 nieces and 3 nephews, and family members that will miss him for a lifetime.
