Viola Iris Almendarez entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, March 22, 2022 at a hospital in Edinburg, Texas at the age of 79. She was born on March 26, 1942 to Alberto “Beto” Villa and Rafaela Trevino Villa in Falfurrias, Texas. Iris dedicated many years of her life working for the Brook County Hospital as an X-ray Technician and Administrator. She later worked for Dr. Lozano’s Medical Clinic in Falfurrias. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them and her friends, especially during the holidays.
Iris is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Guadalupe “Wally” Almendarez and her son, Alberto T. Almendarez.
She is survived by her daughter, Sandra (Joey Cadena) Almendarez-Cadena of McAllen, Texas; brother, Hector Alberto Villa of Falfurrias; granddaughter, Ava Lynn Cadena of McAllen and numerous extended family members.
Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 26, 2022 at the Funeraria Del Angel Howard Williams in Falfurrias with Visitation beginning at 12:00 p.m. Burial will follow at the Falfurrias Burial Park.
