

Xavier Salinas, 66, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, October 27, 2013 at his residence in Falfurrias, Texas. He was born on February 3, 1947 to Rene Salinas, Sr. and Emma DeLaPena Salinas in Falfurrias. After graduating high school, Xavier proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War for over two years until he was honorably discharged. He then worked for many years as a Mechanic for many different companies, including Exxon, until his retirement. Xavier was welcomed into the gates of Heaven by the Lord; his parents and his brother, Rene G. Salinas, Jr.
He leaves behind to cherish the wonderful memories his loving wife of over 41 years, Manuelita Trevino Salinas of Falfurrias; two sons, Estevan (Gracie) Salinas of Kingsville, Texas and Steven (Sandra) Salinas of Victoria, Texas; eight grandchildren and 1 great-grandson.
Pallbearers will be: Matthew Salinas, Silvestre X. Salinas, Adrian Cervantes, Michael Angel Marrero, Wayne Pierce and Johnny Carrasco. Honorary Pallbearer is Alberto Gonzalez.
Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 31, 2013 at the Funeraria Del Angel Howard Williams in Falfurrias with visitation beginning at 4:00 p.m.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, November 1, 2013 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Falfurrias.
Burial with Military Honors will follow at the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Falfurrias.
