Benjamin C. Nevarez, 81, longtime resident of Chicago's Little Village Neighborhood, passed away on June 16, 2016. Beloved and dear friend of Blanca, Loving father of Benjamin Jr. (Maria) Nevarez, Azalea Nevarez, Elizabeth Nevarez, Ana Nevarez, and Dalia (David) Corredor. Cherished grandfather of Raymond Hestres, Cecille Nevarez, Benjamin E. Nevarez, Jonathan Ruvalcaba, Enrique Chavez, and Joshua, and Ana Amaro. Great grandfather of Viviana Nevarez and Baby Benjamin soon to be. Fond brother of Rafael, Miguel, and Estela Nevarez. Many loving nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his dear parents Jose and Placida and his sister Amalia Lucero. Mr. Nevarez was a self defense instructor for over 50 years, having trained countless numbers of local and state police officers, and many members of other governmental agencies. Funeral services will be held Tuesday 10 AM at Epiphany Catholic Church 2524 S. Keeler Ave., Chicago. Burial will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery, Forest Park.
