1 year, Mama. That's the longest we have ever been apart.  I miss you every day, but especially today.  Keep watching over us.  I love you mostest.

My sincere sympathy to Feliz's family, although it had been many years I had not forgotten her and what a great person she was, I knew that she would grow up to be a great Lady, she was a Berlanga, may she rest in peace.

You will be sorely missed at IEA and by your peers.

This week I was so saddened to see the obituary for Feliz. We became acquainted at Gottlieb Hospital's Fitness Center years ago. She was such a warm and worthwhile person, a pleasure to know. a devoted wife, mother, and lawyer. That was the impression she gave, so intelligent and so good. I am sorry that you have lost this wonderful wife/mother/sister/ and for those of us who even knew her casually, friend. Your family is in my thoughts and prayers.

Dear cousin Feliz you always had a smile on your face you were always a very Happy and caring person. Your cousin Steve Berlanga and family from South Chicago.

Feliz will be missed by many, but remembered as a smart woman and as a strength to teachers.  Feliz worked with a number of teachers in our district supporting us through a very difficult time.  We are forever grateful for her service to IEA and pray that she is at peace now.  May her family and friends take comfort in knowing she has made a lasting impression on many and is watching over them lovingly.

Feliz, you always had a smile.  We'll remember your beauty inside and out.

Dear Tía Feliz, words alone truly cannot express what it meant to me to have you as my aunt. You were always there for me - with strong & helpful advice (even if we at times disagreed :), to "bring" me to the children (your own & others) to care for them, to have FUN, & most of all - to Love me & inspire me. You were truly one of my biggest mentors. Always encouraging me to be myself. And only myself. Always. And don't worry, dear Tía, I sure as heck, won't let you down! ;) I love you. Love, tere

Alyse possesses so many wonderful qualities that I know she gained from her mother. Thank you, Feliz for raising such a great friend of mine.

Mom, I miss you every moment of every day. I know you would want me to be strong and I will do my best, but being without you will be the biggest challenge of my life. Watch over us, Mommy. I love you mostest.

Feliz was an outstanding labor lawyer and advocate. We met her the first day she was hired by the IEA. She was always extremely helpful, friendly and supportive of our efforts. She was a dear friend and colleague. Our love and condolences to her family.

Feliz, from my earliest days as a small child, sharing the same bedroom with you, to the present, I grew up with you, your advice, your encouragement and support, and your love.  Although I will miss you deeply, there is a special part inside of me where you will live forever.  I love you big sister.  Vicki

I knew Feliz primarily through her kids, Erik and Alyse, and I can see her strength and legacy in them. If she was half as good a lawyer as she was a mother, then I can understand the true loss this is for the IEA. She will live on through her great kids. Rest in peace, Feliz.

My good friend Feliz could never say "no". She was always doing something for someone. Feliz lived life not looking back or into the future but in the present with so many plans this year. She loved life, people,and travel. She was my "movie" buddy and best friend.

My sister Feliz learned many life lessons from my parents, both serious and fun.  Perhaps the most fun we had in learning a lesson from Mom and Dad, Victoria and Jesus, was when we would all sit in right field as a large family of nine at Comiskey Park watching our White Sox win a doubleheader on a warm Sunday afternoon.  If there is a family tie that binds us it is our loyalty to our baseball team of southsiders fearlessly taking on all challengers.  Playing with courage and an aim to win is how my sister Feliz lived her life as well.

As her brother, I am happy and proud to see that Feliz lived her life guided by many of the values and moral principles our parents, Jesus and Victoria, taught us all as a family.  Her selfless sense of giving, sharing and helping those in need epitomizes what our parents taught us and how they lived their own lives as examples of compassion in action.  As an educator and union member for many years, I am particularly proud of my sister Feliz's valiant fight for the rights of working men and women that was as much a part of her father's life in the steel mills as it is mine in the classroom.

Sincere condolences to Feliz's family.  As a local IEA advocate, I gained fantastic practical knowledge from IEA presentations, hosted by Feliz.  She helped me and our local in some very direct ways.  Thank you, Feliz.  Rest in peace in God's loving arms.

Feliz and her entire family have been such wonderful neighbors for so many years. We are truly shocked and saddened by her passing, and send our deepest sympathy to Arly, Alyse and Erik.

So sad. Feliz was a wonderful attorney and colleague. My thoughts are with her family and her IEA family.

I worked with Feliz for many years in the capacity of outside counsel for IEA.  Feliz was a true professional in every aspect of that word.  More importantly I considered her to be my friend.  I will miss her and I want to extend my consolences to her entire family.
