Miss her dearly, she taught me so much.  I’m a better person because I listened to her on so many things.  Not to say that I have not made some horrendous mistakes in life…things happen.  Through her encouragement I learned to pick myself up and move forward.  She was a classy lady who ate healthy, dressed well and loved the Lord. Today we are here to celebrate the home going of our dear love one Mrs. Geraldine Wells. To Patricia and Earl, we realize when you lose your Mother, you lose the best friend one could ever have on this Earth, to Tarji and Charles, we pray your strength in the Lord for the loss of your Grandmother, and to the entire family of Mrs. Geraldine Wells. That is including myself, Virginia Johnson she was a first cousin who seemed more like a sister. 
Pat, Tarji, Charles, we are all in this together, and with the faith we have in Jesus; we believe he is going to see us through. Jesus said, “Come unto me all ye that’s burden and heavy laden, and I will give you rest”. We know God’s word is true. So Family we are just going to give it all to Jesus, and just rest in him, there nobody like Jesus, he said in his word, I’ll never leave or forsake you, so we are standing on the promises of God.
So Family, let us be strong in the Lord, we will lift up our eyes unto the hills for which cometh our help, our help cometh from the Lord.
To Pat, Tarji, and Charles the family wants to thank you all for the love and tender care you gave in taking excellent care of our precious loved one. God has already smiled on you, he did just what he said, “I’ll come again, and receive you unto myself”, now Geraldine is resting in Jesus arms, blessed be the name of the Lord.

While so many memories I will forever carry in my heart. She was a lady . Lady of God we prayed, took communion as she would say the prayer. The Lord is my Shepard and I shall not want. She loved to say shall not want, and she truly believed that , and tried not to let anyone else want. My Grandma Nana one of the most influential people in my life. My first car was her car, my first time to boxing matches, she taught me how to play cards, would spend all day with me watching baseball or basketball and always gave me the confidence to be the best man I could become! I am who I am and where I am because of her. She’s one of my 3 Queens and 3 pillars of my life. I just want to make her proud!

Mrs. Wells, as I knew her when Pat and I were growing up, was a phenomenal woman.  She accomplished given the time and general perspective unbelievable feats both professionally and personally.   During my working years she continued her early role in my life by serving as a role model.  She was an incredible business woman, a loving mother, a great cook, and a woman who found a way to nurture her daughter’s friend along with her daughter.  I am thankful for my time with her in Chicago and in Skokie…My love to the family.

Gerry was a wonderful neighbor and friend. We met her when she lived on Latrobe Street in Chicago. She helped organize the "Little Square Block Club" that united many neighbors to know and enjoy each other...and we had a yearly street party with fun activities for the neighborhood kids. Gerry had a heart of gold. She was a very close friend and we treasured her friendship! Like Gerry, we also believe in an afterlife in heaven and we look forward to seeing her again! 

To my Lovely Cousin Geraldine

	It’s so hard to say goodbye to yesterday, especially to one who has not been selfish in sharing with others what God has blessed you with, that was a big heart filled with love and kindness. As my mind takes me back to our childhood growing up in Tennessee, I remember how happy we were when you, and your brother came to live with us after the passing of your Dear Mother, we were one big family with two children added. 
	You and my sister Rillia Mae being close in age you all shared much time together. My sister Doll, and I were the younger sisters, but we all played together. We had fun playing hopscotch, Annie Over, and many other fun games.  Those were the good old days.
	Moving on into your adult life, you relocated to Chicago, there you and your family with the love of God lived a very happy and productive life with your profession field of work, and the love and kindness of your heart you were a blessing to many in making life better for them. Anyone who visited your home could feel the sweet, sweet peace, and love of God that’s always there. 
Now your life journey has come to an end, Jesus came and taken you home. You will be missed by us all, but it’s good to know being absent from the body is to be present with the Lord; Cousin Geraldine may your soul rest in peace.

Remembering all the wonderful times cousin Geraldine spent in St. Louis with us (Roszell and Dorothy Johnson girls). She truly loved her family and made everyone feel special.  We all loved her dearly.  Rest in peace my sweet and loving angel. 

"To blessed to be stressed" she would say to those who greeted her. My fondest memories will be going to therapy with her, helping her exercise and her spicy charm. We were a team and we dressed so all would know. Both Sagittarius! She loved Family Feud and The Price is Right and her ice cream. I love you Nana and will miss you. Geez this is so very hard for me but it’s not about me it’s about a strong, loving woman that truly made a way for many.  Self included. The time I spent with her left me wanting more out of life and the lessons learned are immeasurable.  Special Thanks to the family for sharing this beautiful soul. I remember Aunt Jerri as the most fun loving and sweetest aunt imaginable!  My sister and I took our first plane ride with Pat to visit them for the summer. We must have been about 7 or eight. I was so impressed as a child of her smart business mind and her determination  for greatness. It was an incredible time with Her, Pat and Pepi the poodle.!  Rest in Heaven Aunt Jerri ❤️🙏🏿

Our family was very fortunate to have someone in our family like Geraldine for so long. She was very knowledgeable, gave good advice, and (was) fun to know. We will certainly miss her. 

I have several memories of Great Aunt Geraldine. One thing that stands out is that she always stressed to me was the importance of education. That alone stayed with me and molded me to be the best that I could be. I would also like to add that no matter where she went or what she doing she was always dressed to impress and did not to impress others. She did it for herself.

One of my fondest memories of Aunt Geraldine is spending summers in Chicago. She would cook so many pancakes and sit back with her hands under her chin, watching us eat. The boys would compete to see who could take down the most flapjacks. She would be so tickled! I loved coming to Chicago for many reasons, but I will always remember the competitions. We would go out to eat and see who could consume the most White Castle burgers. She was so loving and will be missed!
