Harriet H. Urs

Harriet H. Urs, age 84, passed away in the Sunrise Assisted Living facility in Schaumburg, Illinois on July 8, 2015. Harriet is the beloved wife of the late Rama Urs; loving mother of Kris (Denise), Jeff (Alison) and Kamala (Juergen Juffa) Urs and the late Walter (Gwen) and infant Leila Urs; grandmother of ten and great-grandmother of two; and a dear sister of Lois (the late Ron) Hodys and the late Edith (late Al) Schumlitz. Harriet was born in Forest Park, Illinois. She received her bachelor’s degree and became a chemist, where she met her husband. After they began a family together, they lived in Connecticut for fifteen years before then moving to Godfrey, Illinois; most recently Harriet resided in the Chicago area. Harriet enjoyed playing bridge, gardening, crocheting and most of all spending time with her family and being a wonderful mother. Harriet loved music and singing, she had a beautiful voice and a beautiful spirit and both will be greatly missed by all who knew her. A visitation will take place from 5-7 PM Monday July 13th at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 7750 W. Cermak Rd., Forest Park. Funeral Services will begin Monday at 7PM. Burial will take place privately in Woodlawn Cemetery.
